Transgrid operates and manages the high voltage electricity transmission network in NSW and the ACT, connecting generators, distributors and major end users. The network is the backbone of the National Energy Market, enabling energy trading between Australia’s three largest states along the east coast and supporting the competitive wholesale electricity market.

As Sydney’s population grows, the demand for electricity is increasing and replacement of the ageing infrastructure will secure the future supply for residents and businesses in Sydney’s CBD and surrounding suburbs. Delivery of projects to budget, accurately forecasting and managing change is becoming an increasingly complex activity, particularly as major projects are initiated.
