Education: Successful completion of Year 10 or the equivalent level of study or mature aged entry
Prior Experience : Working in project environments in Australia for at least 1 year.
Equipment: Laptop computer and access to an internet connection to study in class and/or online.
Program Outcome
This program reflects the role of individuals who apply project management skills and knowledge in a variety of contexts, across a number of industry sectors. The job roles that relate to this qualification may include Project Manager, Project Team Leader, Program Manager, Procurement Manager, Project Controls etc.
Individuals in these roles have project leadership and management roles and are responsible for achieving project objectives. They possess a sound, theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical and managerial competencies to initiate, plan, execute and evaluate their own work and/or the work of others.
Learners completing this course will be able to:

Assessment Details
As part of any course aligned to the Australian Qualification Framework, there is an assessment component that is designed to assess a learners competence following a period of learning and practice.
The Assessment Methodology used for the Diploma of Project Management will be a clustered approach that works with a Case Study that students will follow through the Project Lifecycle submitting assessments along the journey. Assessment methods used include:
AT 1 Questioning (Knowledge Evidence)
AT 2 Product-based Methods including plans, reports, work samples, emails and other products. (Performance Evidence)
AT 3 Direct Observation (Performance Evidence and Foundation Skills)
Delivery Strategy
This program has been designed to provide the skills and knowledge required for Project Managers. The program consists of 12 training package units of competency.
The purpose of this program is to equip individuals with the range of skills required to plan, lead and execute a project from end to end. The program is designed in a lifecycle approach to guide learners through a realistic project environment from business case/scoping through to project closure.
The course delivery is designed to be tailored to existing workers and the course should be completed within 12 months, the course includes
8 days of face-to-face delivered workshops (4 sessions of 2 full-day workshops)
Session 1: Initiation, lifecycle and leadership
Session 2: Project planning
Session 3: Project execution, monitoring and control
Session 4: Project closure and team management
Self-study of both the online resources and the PMBOK textbook (approximately 4-5 hours a week)
Online resources are broken into the knowledge areas (based on the units of competency)
A class case study that will evolve over the learning journey. The case study is used to guide the assessments for Assessment Task 2. The case study will be used in the workshops as well as the self-study and assessment components of the course. You should expect to allow about 2 days a month to complete the assessments required)
The course is practical in nature and encourages students to take learnings from the workshop back to their workplace where they can employ and practice the skills that they have learned in the course.
Learners have access to trainer support throughout their learning journey.
Time Commitment
We expect the following time commitment to be required by our learners to complete the course:
Attendance at the workshops (8 days)
Self-study (4-5 hours a week)
Assessment completion (2 days per month for 6-7 months)
Workplace practice (working in project environments over the duration of the course)
