There are no entry requirements for this course.

The Practitioner course will enable students to demonstrate their ability to:

• Understand the relationships between the four elements of the M_o_R framework;

• Be able to apply the principles, approach, processes and techniques;
• Be able to review and make recommendations to embed the M_o_R framework;
• Be able to create and assess any of the M_o_R framework documents; and
• Be fully prepared to undertake the Practitioner exam.

The following topics will be covered in the course:

• Organisational context of risk management; governance and control;
• Principles of risk management;
• Approach: Policies, strategies and processes; planning; monitoring;
• Perspectives: strategic; programme; project; operational;
• Risk Management Processes: Identifying and analysing risks; planning for implementation of countermeasures; communication;
• Embedding and Reviewing Risk Management: awareness; behaviours; commitment; and
• Preparation for the Foundation Examination.

The course is scenario-based, and focuses on the application of M_o_R under different perspectives and scenarios. Review and revision sessions of all M_o_R elements are included throughout the training. Students will work through a range of exercises and case studies in order to broaden & deepen their understanding of Risk Management and prepare for the exam

• 33 marks required to pass (out of 65 available) – 50%
• 135 minutes duration
• Restricted open book – The M_o_R Manual may be used in the exam

Students will be provided with:

• Access to an electronic version of the manual;
• Access to electronic versions of sample exam papers (including answers);
• Printed copy of a student workbook; and
• Access to electronic version of presentation slides.

A hardcopy version of the manual can be purchased at an additional cost.

Do I need to have to undertaken the M_o_R Foundation?
No.  The latest version of M_o_R (4th edition) is a Practitioner only course.

Is it written M_o_R, MoR or Management of Risk?
All three refer to the same certification. PeopleCert brands it M_o_R®; it’s often written MoR, and its full name is Management of Risk. It now sits within the PRINCE2 family as PRINCE2 Risk Management.

Is this only about project risk?
No. M_o_R covers risk across projects, programmes and operational business-as-usual, which is what makes it useful for governance and assurance roles as well as delivery.

Do you offer an instructor-led version?
Yes — we also run M_o_R as a trainer-led course. If you’d prefer live delivery for your team, talk to us about dates or a private cohort.

Is it recognised in Australia?
Yes — M_o_R is an internationally recognised PeopleCert certification, with CPD recognition from AIPM and PMI.
