There are no entry requirements for this course.

Participants must successfully complete the PRINCE2® Foundation Exam prior to attempting the PRINCE2® Exam.

The Foundation Course will enable students to:

• Develop an understanding of PRINCE2’s integrated elements and their relationships; and
• Explain how to use the Process Model to assemble Stage Plans; and
• Be fully prepared to undertake the Practitioner exam.

The Practitioner Course will enable students to:

• Develop a deeper understanding of the principles and philosophies underpinning PRINCE2;
• Gain exposure to how PRINCE2 is applied in different project environments;
• Explain how PRINCE2 can be effectively applied to address the needs and problems of a specific project scenario; and
• Be fully prepared to undertake the Practitioner exam.

The Foundation Course covers:

• The origin of PRINCE2, where it fits, and its integrated elements;
• The PRINCE2 Principles and how they empower the project team;
• The PRINCE2 Themes, or approaches to critical aspects of project management, including:
  • Organisation;
  • Business Case;
  • Risk;
  • Plans;
  • Change;
  • Progress;
  • Quality.
• The PRINCE2 Process Model, its flow of control and information, the roles involved and their activities, and how to assemble the elements of the Process Model to form Stage Plans;
• Guidance on how to tailor PRINCE2 to suit project needs, and how to embed PRINCE2 into the organisational context of projects;
• Hands on activities, discussions, role plays, quizzes and mind maps in every session to ensure you have absorbed PRINCE2; and
• Guidance on how to prepare for the Foundation Exam, with lots of practice.

The Practitioner Course is a scenario-based training course focusing on the application of PRINCE2 under different project environments and scenarios. Review and revision sessions of all PRINCE2 elements are included throughout the training. The course includes:

• Apply the PRINCE2 principles;
• Apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2 themes;
• Apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2 processes; and
• Prepare for and sit the Practitioner examination.

Project managers, team managers, project support staff, and professionals stepping into project roles — particularly in government and regulated environments where PRINCE2 is the expected method.

Students will be provided with:

• Access to an electronic version of the manual;
• Access to electronic versions of sample exam papers (including answers);
• Printed copy of a student workbook; and
• Access to electronic version of presentation slides.

A hardcopy version of the manual can be purchased at an additional cost.

Can I do Foundation only?
Yes. You can take the 3-day Foundation course on its own, or the 4-day combined course to gain both Foundation and Practitioner.

Is this classroom or virtual?
Both are available. Live virtual runs the same trainer-led format as the classroom, so you can join from anywhere in Australia.
