There is no assumed project management experience

This course is designed to provide participants with a solid understanding of the project management life cycle, alongside strategies for successfully leading projects through each stage. The course will focus on the skills and techniques required to:

• Correctly plan and deliver the project, including the creation of project management plans;
• Lead the project team including an understanding of how to drive project performance and teamwork;
• Successfully communicate, negotiate and influence key stakeholders to achieve project outcomes;
• Manage risk throughout the project, including an appreciation of how risks may impact scope, time, cost and quality; and
• Finalising projects including capturing and dissemination of project learnings for future benefit.

The course will cover:

• Project management lifecycle;
• Initiating, Planning, Delivering, Monitoring and Closing projects;
• Mindset and behaviours associated with leading projects;
• Understanding and applying core project management knowledge areas (Scope, Cost, Time and Quality Management);
• Implementing enabling project management knowledge areas to your projects (Stakeholder engagement, Communication, Human Resources, Risk and Procurement);
• Manage the Triangle of constraints (Time, Cost, Quality & Scope);
• Identify and manage risks in your projects; and
• Apply tools for monitoring and controlling your project.

This course is designed for anyone who is either working as part of a team on a project or has interactions with a project team.

Students will be provided with:

• A printed copy of a student workbook; and
• Access to an electronic version of presentation slides.
