AGIG Strengthens Agile Project Management Capability Through Hybrid Project Management Training

Organisations across Australia are looking for ways to become more responsive and adaptable. However, many still need the governance, planning and control that traditional project management provides.
AGIG partnered with Certitude Australia to develop an Agile-Hybrid Project Management training program. The course combined Agile methodologies with the structure and governance of traditional project management. Consequently, participants gained practical tools they could apply immediately within AGIG’s existing project delivery environment.
Rather than focusing solely on Agile theory, Certitude built a highly practical learning experience. Participants learned how Agile and Waterfall approaches can work together to support successful project outcomes.
The Challenge
As a leading infrastructure organisation, AGIG recognised the growing value of Agile ways of working. However, a complete shift away from established project management practices was neither practical nor desirable.
The organisation wanted Agile Project Management Training that aligned with its governance structures, project controls and delivery processes. In addition, AGIG wanted the course tailored to its operational environment so participants could immediately apply their learning.
Importantly, AGIG wanted its project professionals to understand when Agile delivery is appropriate, when predictive approaches remain valuable, and how a Hybrid Project Management approach can provide the best outcome.
The Solution
Certitude worked closely with AGIG to design a customised Agile-Hybrid Project Management course. The program bridged the gap between traditional project delivery and Agile ways of working.
Throughout the course, participants explored Agile principles, frameworks and techniques. They also learned how to integrate these approaches into structured project environments. Furthermore, the program examined the strengths, limitations and practical application of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Key topics included Agile planning, Scrum, stakeholder engagement, user stories, project scheduling, Agile governance, project controls and Hybrid Project Delivery models.
Certitude delivered the training through practical workshops, facilitated discussions and real-world examples. As a result, participants could see how Agile practices fit within existing governance frameworks and project delivery processes.
The Outcomes
The Agile-Hybrid Project Management program strengthened AGIG’s ability to adopt contemporary project delivery practices while maintaining governance and control.
Participants improved their understanding of Agile Project Management principles and Hybrid Project Delivery approaches. They also gained greater confidence in selecting and tailoring project management methods to suit different project environments.
Furthermore, the program increased awareness of Agile governance, project lifecycle models and practical delivery techniques that can support project success.
Participant feedback reflected strong engagement and positive learning outcomes. In particular, learners valued the practical examples and guidance on integrating Agile practices into existing project methodologies.
