Participants must successfully complete the PRAXIS Framework Foundation Exam prior to attempting the PRAXIS Practitioner Exam.

The Foundation Course will enable students to:

• Develop a knowledge of the characteristics and context of a project and a programme and the benefits of effective project and programme management;
• Understand the purpose of the Praxis Framework, the project and programme roles, documents and functions, and their use in the Praxis process models;
• Develop a knowledge of the goals and activities within the Praxis Frameworks process models and how they interface;
• Understand the importance and goals of interpersonal skills in the project and programme environment and their recognised models; and
• Be fully prepared to undertake the Foundation exam.

The Practitioner Course will enable students to:

• Understand the relationships between the roles, documents, functions, techniques and processes;
• Apply the roles, functions, techniques and processes to a project and programme scenario;
• Create and assess project and programme documents for a given scenario; and
• Be fully prepared to undertake the Practitioner exam.

The Foundation Course covers:

• The context of portfolio, programme and project (P3) management;
• The core elements of Praxis – knowledge, method, competency, capability;
• Integrative functions – planning, control, assurance, business case, information, organisation and stakeholders;
• Delivery functions – scope, schedule, risk, finance, resources and change;
• P3 management processes; and
• Interpersonal skills.

The course includes hands on activities, discussions, role plays and quizzes in every session to ensure you have absorbed Praxis Framework concepts. Students are also provided with detailed guidance on how to prepare for the certification exam, with lots of practice.

The Practitioner course is an examination preparation course that focuses on applying the Praxis Framework to prepare candidates for the Practitioner examination. The course content includes:

• The relationships between the roles, documents, functions, techniques and processes;
• How to apply the roles, functions, techniques and processes to a project and programme scenario; and
• How to create and assess project and programme documents for a given scenario.

Foundation:

• 75 simple multiple-choice questions
• 60 minutes duration
• Closed book
• 50% pass mark (38 marks out of 75)

Practitioner:

• Complex multiple-choice questions
• 2 ½ hours duration
• Open book (only the Praxis Framework can be referred to)
• 50% pass mark (40 marks out of 80)

Students will be provided with:

• Access to an electronic version of the manual;
• Access to electronic versions of sample exam papers (including answers);
• Printed copy of a student workbook; and
• Access to electronic version of presentation slides.

A hardcopy version of the manual can be purchased at an additional cost.
