There is no assumed project management experience and this course is best undertaken prior to training scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project or Primavera).

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

• Understand the role of scheduling within a project environment;
• Use schedule development techniques and processes to create mature project schedules; and
• Apply successful schedule management techniques in their workplace environments.

Students will learn about:

• Importance of planning;
• Work Breakdown Structures (WBS);
• Assigning responsibility;
• Product Flow Diagrams (PFDs);
• Activity sequencing (Inc. Lags/Leads);
• Critical path and float;
• Techniques to manage uncertainty;
• Estimating duration and effort;
• Resource planning and leveling;
• Baseline establishment and management;
• Updating (progressing) the schedule;
• Using schedule data to inform decisions; and
• Closing out a schedule.

This course is designed for anyone that works within a project team and has a need to understand the detail behind how project schedules are developed and managed.

Students that successfully undertake this course will be issued with an official Certificate of Completion from Certitude Australia.

Students will be provided with:

• Printed copy of a student workbook; and
• Access to electronic version of presentation slides.
